Prishtina, March 25, 2025 – CorrWatch initiative composed of Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS), GAP Institute and the Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), with the support of the British Embassy in Pristina, organized the Third Annual Conference: “Increasing Public Oversight and Institutional Accountability in Kosovo”.

The Annual Conference commenced with H.E Mr. Jonathan Hargreaves, Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, as a keynote speaker who recognized CorrWatch’s contributions and achievements over the past year in combatting corruption and increasing transparency within public institutions.
During the conference, CorrWatch presented the report with the findings and recommendations of the one-year monitoring (February 2024-February 2025) in the 5 components of the project: 1. Recruitment in Public Institutions, 2. Public Procurement, 3. Grants and Subsidies, 4. Permits, Licenses and Tariffs, 5. Performance and Management of Public Owned Enterprises.

The conference was further divided into four different thematic panels. The first panel discussed the efficiency of public spending through procurement and grants. The second panel focused on the performance and strategic development of public enterprises. The third panel centered on thermal energy tariffs. The fourth and final panel addressed the evaluation of the efficiency of the Law on Public Officials regarding recruitment.

For the third year, bringing together over 100 participants, this platform continues to serve as a key platform for public institutions, civil society, and experts to exchange insights and shape the way forward in strengthening transparency and accountability in these critical sectors.
