The CSO Coalition ‘Anti-Corruption Week’ with a performance in front of the Palace of Justice: “Failures in the fight against corruption”

December 6, 2016

On 6 December 2016, Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS), Kosovo Law Institute (KLI), Institute GAP and Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), on behalf of the CSO Coalition of the “Anti-Corruption Week”, supported by the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina, organised a performance in front of the Palace of Justice, under the moto “Failures in the fight against corruption”. During this performance, the CSO Coalition exposed 10 banners with specific messages for the failures towards adequately fighting corruption, based on findings from a continuous monitoring process of the justice system. Organisers agreed that the judicial and prosecutorial systems continue to face numerous corruption cases which have not been treated with priority and have not been solved for many consecutive years. Consequently, fight against corruption in Kosovo is considered a failure and there is a need for an immediate action to further improve the process. Participants at this activity included numerous representatives from the civil society organisations, media and public at large.

Part of the CSO Coalition ‘Anti-Corruption Week’ #Bashkeendreqim! are: Kosovo Law Institute (KLI), Çohu, Democracy Plus (D+), Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS), Institute GAP and Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI).

Venue: Palace of Justice, Prishtina
