GLPS held an event in the Hague on the topic: “Kosovo’s EU path: What progress in visa liberalisation and the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue?”

On July 18, Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS), in close cooperation with the Clingendael Institute and Epik Institute, held a Roundtable Discussion on the topic: “Kosovo’s EU path: What progress in visa liberalisation and the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue?”, held in Hague, Netherlands. This discussion has been held under the ‘Chatham House’ rules.  At the beginning of the event, Arber Fetahu, a Research Fellow at GLPS presented a Policy Brief etitled: “Evaluating Kosovo’s position in the Dialogue with Serbia”. The analysis and the findings of the paper caused vivid and thoughtful discussion from the participants. Panelists at this event were: H.E, Dren Doli, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the Kingdom of Netherlands, Carlijn Lubbinge (NL MFA), and moderator was Wouter Zweers, Research Fellow at the Clingendael Institute. Also, other participants were from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherlands, one MeP from the social democrats, journalists, academics and representatives from civil society organizations based in the Hague, were present. From the overall discussion it was concluded that a final agreement with Serbia would be on the benefit of both states, and thus the opportunities for a solution shall be explored from both countries under the mediation of the EU. Furthermore, the European perspective of Kosovo was discussed, while progress and some setbacks were acknowledged.
