From 13-15 May 2016, the Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) hosted the third workshop of the European Integration School, on the topic: ‘The Stabilization and Association Agreement: The role of the Assembly of Kosovo in its monitoring and implementation processes’, held in Durrës, Albania. This workshop is part of the project “Strengthening the discourse on knowledge in the field of the Stabilisation and Association Process between Kosovo and EU through a mini school on European Integration”, supported by Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS) and implemented by GLPS. The workshop gathered more than 30 officials from the Assembly, including the Secretary General. The main purpose of this workshop was to enhance their professional knowledge, with regards to their role in the implementation process of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) and its importance for Kosovo. In addition, this workshop was dedicated specifically to the joint institutional structures between EU and Kosovo, as well as reforms and standards that the Assembly should address, within the framework of the SAA. The workshop offered an exceptionally original perspective in addressing the process of criteria upon which the institutional communication will be developed, using comparative perspectives of other countries in the region. Participants had the opportunity to discuss and get informed about the SAA process and its implementation in Albania, as well as the success stories and failures throughout the long path towards the EU Integration.
