On 28 October 2013, Group for Legal and Political Studies hosted a Panel Discussion, entitled: ‘Kosovo’s EU integration perspective: Challenges and the path ahead’. The panel discussion prompted a policy debate about Kosovo’s enlargement perspective and challenges associated with this process. In particular, the panel discussion focused on the initiation of negotiations for an SAA with Kosovo, discussed its importance and highlighted the shortages that will have on the overall integration outlook for Kosovo. In addition, the panelists offered an overview of the enlargement process from the perspective of EU member states and identified the implications and recommendations for Kosovo. At the beginning of the discussion, Group for Legal and Political Studies presented a Policy Report entitled ‘The EU-Kosovo Relationship in the Context of EU Enlargement Policy’ authored by Prof. Dr. Niell Nugent, distinguished professor of EU and EU enlargement policy.
