Researching the Albanian Electoral System …
By admin | August 11, 2009
Group for Legal and Political Studies is conducting a research upon the electoral system of Albania, as part of the Assessing Democracy in the Western Balkans research project. The research being conducted will beg the answer to three phenomena that this respective electoral system might produce: first, the extent to which the quantitative party pluralism has been interfered, second, the potentiality of constraining the parliamentary democracy while favouring the bi-polar parties’ democracy, and third, the changing of the electoral behaviour that this system might pull out. In addition to these three research questions, there will be some efforts paid for the interference that this electoral system has brought to the policy-based electoral campaigning, as of the last June 2009 parliamentary elections in Albania. The working papers produced as a result of this research, will be published in the Group’s web-site.
